HC Neman Grodno beat Vienna in OT on Friday night, and will now look to upset Swiss side EV Zug who are the visitors in Belarus.
"We've done our homework and know that they'll be a strong team," said Head Coach Sergei Pushkov. "Like Vienna we know that the Swiss teams have North American coaches and players, so we need to get ready for some hard hockey with a lot of body checking."
For Zug the defeat of Vienna will be a warning sign to the that Grodno will be no pushovers, and another difficult test after their 3-2 loss in Jyvaskyla. "Grodno is a very strong team that has, in its short history, won several championships with a skilled and well skating team," stated Head Coach Harold Kreis. "I am looking forward to two different hockey cultures competing head to head against each other."
