Few would have given the Nottingham Panthers much hope of a win in this group, let alone what's happened in their past two games. The Continental Cup winners go into tonight's match against SC Bern second in the group and with qualification to the next round an increasing possibility.
"It's going to be tough. They're a very, very good hockey team," said Panthers' captain Stevie Lee. "We're going to have to stay out of the penalty box because their powerplay is excellent."
Bern lost their 100% CHL record this season with a somewhat surprising 3-1 loss in Turku two nights ago. "We played a good 40 minutes, but too many penalties and lost a lot of energy from that. In the last 20 minutes we lost our focus, too many turnovers, but we had a lot of battling and good intensity," said Head Coach Kari Jalonen after the defeat to TPS. "We'll analyse it, but if you want to win you have to play for 60 minutes."
