By winning away in Bolzano 6-1 in the first leg, HC Pilsen find themselves in a comfortable position, playing at home with a five-goal lead to protect. Miroslav Indrák was the hero of the game, recording a hat-trick. David Stach was held off the scoresheet, but he continues to lead all CHL scorers with 11 points. Alexander Petan scored the lone goal for HC Bolzano in the game. He and Michael Blunden both lead the team with six points in the CHL.
Since the first leg and the international break, Pilsen have played twice domestically, winning 3-2 in a shootout in Pardubice and losing 2-1 at home to Berani Zlín. Overall, five losses in their last six games have seen them drop to 10th in the Extraliga standings.
Bolzano have been much more successful domestically than Pilsen this season.
