- First ever CHL game for the Aalborg Pirates
- Lions wary of threat
- Some previous CHL experience in Pirates' roster
Aalborg make their Champions Hockey League debut be entering the Lions' den, quite literally.
The Danish champions visit their Swiss counterparts, with the home side hoping to make a bigger impression on Europe this season. For the Lions last season's LGT Top Scorer Fredrik Pettersson will again be relied on to put up some serious numbers, while Roman Cervenka coming in will also add to their offensive power.
"We don't know that much about them, but they're Danish Champions - we can't underestimate them"Sven Leuenbergen (GM, ZSC Lions)
Aalborg have had an intense preseason under new Head Coach Jason Morgan, last weekend winning in Fife before losing in Manchester. A couple of players on the Pirates' team have previous CHL experience, with former SønderjyskE forward (and New York Rangers' Draft Pick) Thomas Spelling coming into the team for this season.
"This will likely be our toughest match, they'll play a fast, aggressive style and have imports with NHL experience"Jason Morgan (Head Coach, Aalborg Pirates)
