Red Bull Munich came from two behind to draw level with Brynäs IF, but saw penalties cost them as the Swedes ran out 3-2 winners. The result puts Brynäs in the driving seat to win the group, but it will come down to next week's return game to decide it.
The visitors got a good start with a goal under six minutes in from Kevin Clark, and then Juuso Ikonen doubled the lead at 21:53. However, just over two minutes later, Nicolas Strodel pulled one back. Frank Mauer got the hosts level with 30:42 played but the lead was only held for a little over 90 seconds as Jacob Blomqvist put the visitors back into a lead they'd hold through the final period.
