Tappara Tampere sit clear at the top of Group A after a thumping 7-1 win over Grizzlys Wolfsburg in Germany.

The sole goal in the opening period was scored by Matti Järvinen at 7:53, but it was the middle session where the visitors really dominated. Juhani Jasu (23:01), Jarno Kärki (31:12), and Tomáš Záborský (32:54) had Tappara 4-0 ahead by just past the midway point in the game.

A fifth was added by Kristian Kuusela at 43:50, and then Jere Karjalainen made it 6-0 at 49:02. Mark Voakes added a consolation with just over 10 minutes to go, but the six-goal lead was re-established with 2:22 to go through Veli-Matti Vittasmaki.

The win puts Tappara in complete control of the group, while Wolfsburg will now hit the road next week.
