There was late drama and heartbreak for Adler Mannheim as Brynäs IF scored two late goals to book their place in the Quarter-Finals.
Trailing a goal from last week, the visitors got a brilliant start as Devin Setoguchi’s deflected goal had Die Adler level on aggregate with only 1:39 played.
It was a lead that the away side held until deep into the final period. With two Mannheim players in the box, Brynäs took full advantage of the 5-on-3 as Jacob Blomqvist fired home from close range to level the scores on the night, and put his team back ahead overall. An empty-netter with 52 seconds to go from Linus Öhlund sealed the 2-1 and 5-3 aggregate win.
