For the second game in a row, the Malmö Redhawks left it late to beat the Norwegian champion Stavanger Oilers by a single goal.
The visitors took a surprise lead in Malmö - Harisson Reed with a beautiful top-shelf backhand shot to open the scoring inside eight minutes.
That lead they held into the break but not much further. It was less than two minutes into the middle session when Frederik Storm tied things up. The score stayed level despite the Redhawks outshooting the Oilers significantly through the next two periods, but it wasn't until the closing stages that the tie was broken. With just 3:04 remaining, it was captain Robin Alvarez to the rescue to win the game for the home side.
