The two Finnish teams will begin in Tampere with JYP two goals ahead after last week’s meeting in Jyväskylä.
Tappara though are in fine form – the CHL loss aside, the team has eight straight wins from the Liiga and sit five points off the league leaders. Tappara have, however, not beaten JYP at home by more than a goal in over two years, and have won only one of the last four meetings on their own ice.
JYP, on the other hand, are going through a bit of a rough patch, and go into this game on the back of two losses in the league – although one was in extra time and both were by a single goal. Where they do have an advantage though is recent meetings – the side from Jyvaskyla has won on its two most recent visits to Tampere.
