- Malmö managed a big win over TPS back on Gameday 1
- Malmö come in following Thursday night's shock loss to Minsk
- TPS finally got their first win Thursday in a close game against Munich
The Malmö Redhawks are looking to bounce back from their first loss they picked up against Yunost Minsk, as they travel to Finland to take on TPS Turko, who finally got points on the board to open Group B up for some late-game drama, with just three points separating the top and bottom teams.
Malmö didn't have much luck in their first away game of the season, falling behind early against Minsk, and never found their way back into the game, while TPS put on a game in front of their home fans for the first time this season and gave them something to cheer about, with a hard-fought 5-3 win over Red Bull Munich.
Despite the loss on Thursday night, the Redhawks are still sharing top spot in Group B with two wins and a loss, and with a big 8-4 win over TPS already in the tournament, they'll be full of confidence going into this matchup. A great second period saw the Redhawks put up four goals which sent them on their way to the big win in their opening game, and they'll rely heavily on Lars Bryggman to be the go to man again. Bryggman put up three points in that opening game and will wear the Top Scorer shirt for them against TPS on Saturday, with five points through three games.
TPS had a tough time in their first two games, both away from home. The loss to Malmö was followed up with a tougher to swallow loss against Red Bull Munich, who pumped in five powerplay goals against them.
Coming home for the first time, they've already got revenge on Munich in a 5-3 win, so now they'll look to make it two in a row when they welcome Malmö to the Gatorade Arena.
Young star Kaapo Kakko got his first goal of the competition in their win over Munich with a slick wraparound, and the 17-year-old will once again feature heavily for TPS on Saturday, while Oula Palve and Zach Budish both lead the team in points with four in three games, with Palve leading the team in goals with three.
