- Rögle finally broke through on the powerplay
- Fehérvár's lone goal came from Andrew Sarauer
- The Swedes outshot their opponents 38-19
A seven-goal bonanza brought Rögle Ängelholm to a 3-0 record as the Swedes handily defeated Fehérvár AV19 at home.
Riley Sheen continued his magic, helping his team take the lead 5:35 in the first. Good defence led to even better offence as Sheen picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated down the left side and sauced a pass to Kim Rosdahl who buried it clean.
A little over two minutes later, Ludvig Larsson finally cracked the scoresheet when he deflected a point shot from Tony Sund to give Rögle a two-goal advantage.
The Swedes continued their onslaught past the midway mark of the first. Rögle's touted prospect, Marco Kasper, who already had an assist on the night, swooped into the offensive zone before firing it low-glove to beat Olivier Roy and take a commanding 3-0 lead.
The lamp lit again as the goals kept pouring in in the first stanza. This time it was the visitors who got on the board when an outlet pass found its way into the offensive zone where Andrew Sarauer whacked it in behind Calle Clang, cutting the deficit to two.
Intensity picked up in the second as the home team added to their lead, scoring their fourth from Erlend Lesund. The defenceman found open space and rocketed it past the Canadian netminder for his first goal and first point of the season.
Rögle would go on to secure their fifth goal of the night off their fifth goal-scorer with less than two minutes to go in the middle frame. Adam Engström glided through the crease before forehanding the puck past Roy.
After going 0-for-12 on the man-advantage to start the season, the Swedish side finally cashed in on the powerplay when Sheen delivered a twisted wrister blocker side seven minutes into the third period.
Already up by five, Rögle would go up by six when Oskar Stål Lyrenäs made a spectacular individual effort, going coast-to-coast and ripping it far side.
With that, the game was over almost before it began as the Swedes smothered the Hungarians for most of the match and skated away with a decisive 7-1 win.
