- Three-point night for Ludvig Larsson
- Rögle scored three goals on the powerplay
- 33 to 25 shots on goal in Rögle's favour
Coming into the game two goals down on aggregate score, Rögle Ängelholm scored two minutes in and added four more to win 6-4 on aggregate against Red Bull Salzburg to move on to the Champions Hockey League Quarter-Finals!
The reigning CHL Champions wasted no time in getting the game going - just two minutes in, Ludvig Larsson scored a lovely goal that he fired in from in between the circles. But it was all quiet for the remainder of the first period following this early kick-starter.
The floodgates would open in the second period, however, with Rögle scoring three goals, two of which came on the powerplay, to go 4-0 up and most importantly go 5-3 up on aggregate score!
Salzburg scored their first of the game in the dying minutes of the second period when Thomas Raffl rifled the puck into the net to get his team back into the series - now just one goal down.
But it wasn't meant to be as the third period offered Rögle another powerplay just minutes in and they utilised it without fault - with Larsson scoring his second of the game after some sneaky build-up play and quick passing left him unmarked in front of the away team's net.
Salzburg gave it all they had, but their on-the-edge play won them one too many penalty minutes and with sixty minutes of game time up, the Catena Arena, the venue of last year's CHL Final, applauded a solid comeback in the series from home side Rögle who move on to the CHL Quarter-Finals for a second season in a row.
