- Shutout win for Zug
- Lino Martschini scores in second consecutive game
- Both teams will meet again next Saturday
In a clash of two clubs that both won on Game Day 1, it was back-to-back Swiss NL champions EV Zug who continue their winning streak thanks to a shutout win over Finns TPS Turku.
Turku got off to a better start to the game gaining some early offensive chances but a Niklas Hansson goal seven minutes into the game saw the cards flip and never return, with the Swiss side controlling the game from thereon.
Zug scored an extra two in the second period - the first being a strong strike from the blueline and the second coming through some quick-passing play, and an empty net goal in the final minute of the game, courtesy of Lino Martschini who now scores in his second consecutive game, as they cruised to the top of Group B.
They outshot their opponents 32-16 as Leonardo Genoni had little work to do between the pipes. The Swiss backstop is now on a 95.35 SV% after two games.
Both teams will now have four days off before returning to action next Thursday and clashing against each other again next Saturday in Switzerland.
