- Jasper Patrikainen: 29-save shutout for Lahti
- Ryan Lasch: 2 goals + 2 assists for Lahti
- Powerplays: Lahti 2/7, Vítkovice 0/3
Ryan Lasch recorded four points and Jasper Patrikainen made 29 saves for the shutout as the Lahti Pelicans defeated Vítkovice Ridera 4-0. It is Lahti’s second win in three games and the first loss for Vítkovice.
The first period was marked by six straight Vítkovice penalties, which resulted in Lahti dominating, outshooting their opponents 14-4 and scoring three goals.
The first goal came at 8:07, just five seconds after a 5-on-3 expired, but the Pelicans were still a man up. The puck came to Aatu Jämsen at the side of the net, and from a tight angle he banked it in off the skate of goaltender Lukáš Klimeš.
The second goal was technically at even strength, although it came just two seconds after a Lahti powerplay had ended. Klimeš stopped the initial shot from Jonas Enlund, who also assisted on the first goal, but the rebound went to a wide-open Lasch who made no mistake.
The third goal came late in the period on another powerplay. Lasch made a relay pass to Elias Vilén, who in one motion swept the rolling puck towards the net and it beat Klimeš over the glove.
Lahti’s fourth goal came in the second period with the teams skating 4-on-4. They benefited from a fortuitous bounce when a shot attempt hit the leg of a Vítkovice, hit the end glass and came out the other side of the net to Lasch who finished it again.
Vítkovice finally got their first powerplay late in the second period and Dominik Lakatoš, who entered the game with five points, had a great chance but Patrikainen made a big pad save.
Vítkovice had a couple more powerplays in the third period – in fact, they finished the game on the powerplay – but were unable to score.
