- Musil, Hyka & Čerešňák: 2 points each for Pardubice
- Jonathan Pudas: 5 shots on goal, 23:01 TOI for Skellefteå
- Powerplays: Skellefteå 0/6, Pardubice 1/3
Lukáš Sedlák’s rebound goal with 2:25 to go capped a late comeback and secured a 4-3 road victory for Dynamo Pardubice over Skellefteå AIK. The result evens both teams’ records at a win and a loss each.
Each team scored twice in a span of less than six minutes in the middle of the first period.
Jan Mandát opened the scoring by pouncing on a rebound off the end boards following Peter Čerešňák’s attempt from the point. Jonathan Johnson tied it by re-directing a pass from Elias Solomonsson, and then Skellefteå took the lead just 1:14 later while shorthanded – Linus Lindström converting a pass from Filip Sandberg on a 2-on-1. Finally, Pardubice tied it 2-2 on the powerplay when David Cienciala one-timed a cross-pass from Čerešňák.
Latvian Martins Dzierkals scored the only goal of the second period. It came unassisted as he knocked down a shoulder-high Pardubice clearing attempt with his glove in the neutral zone, then skated down the right wing, cut inside to beat a defenceman and fired a low shot under the glove of Roman Will.
Sedlák very nearly drew Pardubice back even in the last minute of the middle frame on a great solo effort but was denied by Linus Söderström.
Skellefteå had chances to widen their lead with three straight powerplays in the third period but came up empty. In fact, they were 0-for-6 in the game while Pardubice went 1-for-3. After killing off the penalties, Pardubice went onto the attack and tied it again with 6:39 to go when Adam Musil’s shot hit the goalpost, but then hit Soderström’s leg and rebounded into the net.
And then came the game-winner. Soderström stopped the point shot from Tomáš Dvořák but Sedlák, the Pardubice captain, was there to corrall the rebound and score on the backhand. Skellefteå challenged the play for offside on the zone entry but it was denied. The goal stood, securing the win.
