- Tyler Vesel struck first for Brynäs
- Special teams prove decisive in the final period
- Empty-netter seals Brynäs victory
KAC Klagenfurt travelled to Sweden to face Brynäs IF on Game Day 3 of the Champions Hockey League. With both teams level on three points, this clash promised to shape the Regular Season Standings. In the end, it was Brynäs who claimed another three points, leaving the Austrians empty-handed.
After the first period, the scoreboard showed 1–1. Brynäs made a flying start, opening the scoring in the third minute through Tyler Vesel, who converted a pass from Michal Kempný. The visitors struck back later in the frame when Thomas Hundertpfund equalised with a shorthanded blast from the blue line.
The second period remained goalless, though both sides created good chances. The goaltenders stood tall and ensured the game stayed deadlocked at 1–1 heading into the final frame.
The third period, however, belonged to Brynäs. Special teams made the difference, as Klagenfurt failed to take advantage of an early powerplay before conceding while down a man. Minutes later, the Swedes struck on their own man advantage to open a two-goal lead. Klagenfurt pulled one back with six minutes to go to set up a potential comeback, but Brynäs stayed in control and sealed the 4–2 victory with an empty-net goal.
