- Jeziorski opened scoring early for the hosts
- Four-goal third period kept fans on edge
- Tuuva scored late game-winner for Lukko
The Poles faced Lukko Rauma on home ice in their final Regular Season game of the 2025/26 Champions Hockey League. Although both teams already knew their fate, Lukko having secured qualification and GKS Tychy out of contention for the Round of 16, they still delivered an entertaining contest for the fans, with Lukko looking to score big points in their bid for a more favourable position in the standings.
The opening period began with the hosts striking early, as Bartłomiej Jeziorski put Tychy ahead just 2:24 into the game. From that point, however, the Finns gained control and equalised in the 8th minute through Antti Saarela. The Poles then ran into penalty trouble, taking back-to-back minors, and Lukko made them pay on the second powerplay to take a 2-1 lead.
In the second period, the home side managed to level the score when Henri Knuutinen cleverly redirected Mark Viitanen’s shot from the blue line, the puck bouncing just in front of goaltender Daniel Salonen and into the net. Less than two minutes later, though, Onni Korkka restored Lukko’s advantage to make it 3-2.
The final frame turned into a goal frenzy, featuring four goals in total. Tychy came out flying, scoring twice early to take the lead, but Lukko responded again, equalising at 47:09 and then netting the game-winner in the final minute through Leo Tuuva, sealing a 5-4 victory for the Finnish side
