- Filip Chlapík scored the game-winner in the shootout
- Sparta outshot Luleå 31-13
- Luleå still managed a point
A brilliant battle between two more-than-capable clubs culminated in Sparta Prague engineering their second win of the 2025/26 Champions Hockey League season with a 2-1 shootout victory over former CHL Champions Luleå Hockey.
After a scoreless first, Jakub Krejčík's wrist shot from inside the near circle beat Matteus Ward clean over the right pad to break the deadlock. Michael Špaček sauced a pass to a trailing Krejčík who corralled the puck and fired it in for his second tally of the tournament.
The Swedish side responded less than three minutes later when Anton Levtchi converted on Luleå's third powerplay opportunity. The Finnish forward registered his second goal of the season when he swept in a loose puck to make it 1-1.
End-to-end action was the storyline of the third as each team continued to trade chances with the Czechs holding an advantage in shot attempts at 25-13, but both netminders continued to stand on their head as regulation came to a close with the sides still tied.
With neither club able to solve the opposition's backstop in OT, a shootout followed. Filip Chlapík was able to fool Ward in the third round as he flicked the puck up and over the netminder's blocker to clinch the win and the extra point for the hosts.
