- Bremerhaven pushed hard in the third period
- Storhamar qualified for Playoffs
Storhamar Hamar faced Pinguins Bremerhaven in their final game of the 2025/26 Champions Hockey League Regular Season. With both teams still fighting for a Round of 16 spot, there was plenty on the line and following the win, the home side sealed their place in the upcoming Round of 16.
The opening period produced a single goal that gave Storhamar a deserved lead after creating several good chances. The visitors, meanwhile, struggled offensively, with their best opportunity coming from a rebound attempt by Miha Verlič. The breakthrough came late in the period at 16:48, when Bremerhaven’s goaltender Kristers Gudļevskis hesitated behind the net while playing a loose puck, allowing Axel Sandnes to pounce and fire it in from a sharp angle, banking it off the netminder and in.
The second period was more balanced, though only Storhamar managed to find the back of the net. At 27:17, Sander Dilling Hurrød capitalised on a powerplay to extend the Norwegian side’s lead to 2–0.
In the third period, Bremerhaven pushed hard, creating numerous chances as Storhamar focused on defence. The visitors finally broke through at 54:39, when Žiga Jeglič won the face-off and sent the puck to Jan Urbas, who fired a shot from the right circle straight under the crossbar. In the closing minutes, the Germans pulled their goalie for an extra skater, but Storhamar’s discipline and shot-blocking held firm. The Norwegians weathered the pressure and closed out a hard-fought 2–1 victory.
