- Bolzano dominate puck possession in the first and second periods
- Bolzano are on a three game winning streak
- Jastrzębie face a third straight loss
Despite missing top forward Daniel Catenacci from the line-up, hosts HC Bolzano had no shortage of offence, outshooting JKH GKS Jastrzębie 19-6 in the first period. The Italian side opened up the scoring five minutes into the first stanza to take the lead 1-0. Bolzano defenceman Alex Trivellato netted a beautiful wristshot from the slot, off a solid forecheck and turnover from the corner.
Bolzano had a chance to extend their lead after a holding penalty from Jastrzębie forward Ruslan Bashirov, but the visitors successfully thwarted all attempts by the Italians to set up on the powerplay. The Polish side got a break, and managed a short-handed, odd-man rush, but netminder Kevin Boyle was rock solid.
Jastrzębie got their first powerplay of the game thanks to an interference call on Domenic Alberga, early in the second period. Despite several opportunities, the visitors were unable to capitalise. Bolzano had their fair share, with four minutes of powerplay action after penalties from Mateusz Bryk and Samuel Mlynarovic, but netminder Patrik Nechvátal was jumping on every loose puck. With less than a minute left in the period a stray deflection off the stick of Angelo Miceli's saw the Italians up their lead to 2-0.
Jastrzębie worked hard in the third period to cut the deficit, but luck was not on their side. A close range shot from Bolzano forward Diego Glück extended the Italians' lead 3-0. At 53:41 Jastrzębie forward Samuel Mlynarovic finally got the Polish team on the board (3-1) after a net front scramble, but it wasn't enough to reclaim the game before the final horn sounded.
The victory marks Bolzano's third straight win, while Jastrzębie suffer another defeat.
