- Engqvist & Brodin: 2 goals each for Djurgården
- Thoresen & Johansson: each 1 goal for Storhamar
- Reideborn: 26 saves for Djurgården
A vital game in Group E for Djurgården and Storhamar to either extend or close the gap between the top two and chasing pack.
The Norwegians were backed by almost 1,000 traveling fans at Hovet, and had something to shout about early on. The man who just can't stop scoring, Patrick Thoresen, slotted home a rebound to put the visitors one up. It took until 16 minutes for Djurgården to draw level, with Jacob Josefsson completing some pressure from the home side with a powerplay wrist-shot goal.
Disappointingly for Storhamar, they weren't able to regroup and conceded again just 1:51 later to Andreas Engqvist and the hosts were suddenly ahead. With three goals in the first period, it took until well over the halfway mark for either side to add more. Joel Johansson brought Storhamar level with 33:40 played, but again Storhamar conceded two quick goals. First Daniel Brodin converting on the powerplay again with a well-placed one-timer, and then Engqvist in the right place to fire home from the slot at 36:10.
Brodin grabbed himself a second on the empty net with 1:52 to go to make the game safe, as the Swedes took a 5-2 win to put themselves in a strong position to make the Round of 16.
