- Hosts stay perfect in CHL so far
- Johan Ryno hits winner with 4:24 to play
- Both goalies save over 93% of shots faced
Färjestad Karlstad kept up their unbeaten start on their return to the Champions Hockey League with a home win over Ambrì-Piotta.
The opening period saw the sides trade goals - Nick Plastino putting Ambrì, who lost in Munich on Game Day 1, ahead after 7:29. The hosts were however level at 16:02 through Victor Ejdsell, and that's where it seemed the scoring would end despite the teams trading some 55 shots across three periods.
The deadlock was eventually broken just under five minutes from the end. Johan Ryno was given too much time in the visitors' zone, and danced his way through from the boards to in front and cooly slotted home to ensure Färjestad took all three points.
