- Samuel Fagemo registers 3+1
- Frölunda racked up a total of 56 shots on goal
- Aalborg crash out as Frölunda go through
The Frölunda Indians came out in the first period with a point to prove as they forced the visitors’ netminder Ronan Quemener into making 19 saves but still failed to score. They rectified the problem early into the second when Mats Rosseli-Olsen patiently stood in front of the net until the puck arrived at his feet, which he subsequently fired home. A second goal for the home side opened the floodgates in the game after Samuel Fagemo reacted the fastest to his teammate hitting the bar, spinning cleverly to slot it home.
Samuel Fagemo went on to score another two goals in the final period to complete his hat trick against the Aalborg Pirates and end their Champions Hockey League journey. Two came from in front of the net including his third, which he beautifully toe dragged around a defenceman before sending it home. The win puts Frölunda top of Group A for now on 10 points with Zurich and Vienna still to play.
