Fribourg-Gottéron took full advantage of a powerplay in the third and rode it to victory as they claimed their second victory in as many games, downing KAC Klagenfurt 3-1.

Neither side held any advantage through the first 20 minutes with each side trading chances as both netminders were equally impressive between the pipes leading to a scoreless first period. 

In the second, Klagenfurt's Raphael Herburger managed to take advantage of an opportunity when he took control of the puck along the near side, skated down unopposed, and wristed it through the 7-hole to give his club the lead and the game its first tally of the night.

Puck dropped in the third and four minutes in, a Fribourg went on a powerplay that changed the entire complexion of the game. The Swiss netted three goals on the man-advantage and took a two-goal lead with 15 minutes remaining in regulation.

First, a lucky bounce off the Klagenfurt netminder allowed Jonas Taibel to convert on the powerplay when he tipped home the puck. Then, Jacob de la Rose skated into a rebound opportunity and wristed it past Sebastian Dahm to make it 2-1. Taibel secured his second of the night moments later when he deposited another loose puck to give the Swiss a two-goal cushion.

The Austrians attempted to gain ground, but Fribourg did an excellent job keeping their opponents to the outside and limiting any chances to secure their second win of the season.
