- Shutout for hosts
- Giants end debut CHL adventure
- Belfast without an away win in any competition this season
Luleå Hockey ensured they will finish top of Group C thanks to a shutout win against the Belfast Giants.
Jack Connoqlly got the first of his two goals at 16:12 to open the scoring for the hosts, who then doubled that lead through Isac Brännström 3:18 into period two. The middle session ended with Luleå three up thanks to Connolly again, while Noel Gunler rounded off the scoring with 2:53 to play to give the home side as shutout win.
Luleå will move on as a seeded team in the Round of 16; Belfast meanwhile bow out but with nothing to be ashamed of having taken four points in their debut CHL season.
