- Jáchym Kondelík: OT winner, 23:43 TOI
- Lakers led 1-0 entering 3rd period
- Both teams headed to Playoffs
Both Dynamo Pardubice and the Växjö Lakers had already secured Playoff spots heading into this Game Day 6 game and were playing their final Regular Season game to improve their position in the Regular Season Standings. In a mostly defensive game that had a few offensive moments, Pardubice won 2-1 thanks to an overtime goal by Jáchym Kondelík.
Towards the end of a defensively-played first period, the Lakers opened the scoring on a rare odd-man rush. Pardubice were pressuring in the attacking zone but a turnover and a long pass led to a 2-on-1 counter-attack. Peter Cehlárik and Matias Mäntykivi passed back and forth, with the Slovak finishing off the play on his forehand.
Pardubice thought they had tied the game in the 25th minute but it was called back due to a minor penalty for cross-checking to Oleksii Yevtiekhov on the play. Both teams killed off a penalty in the middle frame.
In the last minute of the middle frame, the Lakers mounted enormous pressure but the Pardubice defence didn’t crack and Roman Will stood tall in goal, keeping it a one-goal game into the final 20 minutes.
Pardubice did tie it in the first minute of the third period. Adam Åhman stopped Patrik Poulíček’s initial shot, but the rebound slid all the way out to the top of the circle and Teodor Vápeník leaned into it, blowing it by everyone.
There was no more scoring for the rest of the third period or in the first three minutes of overtime.
In the 64th minute, Miguël Tourigny orchestrated the winning goal by carrying the puck the length of the ice before sending a spinarama backhand pass across to Kondelík, who then had the patience to outwait Åhman and flip the puck past the sprawling netminder.
