HC Pilsen orchestrated a shutout over Rögle Ängelholm to the tune of a 4-0 final as the Czechs put on a dominant display on home ice to claim their first victory of the 2026/27 Champions Hockey League campaign. Nick Malík was marvelous between the pipes, stopping all shots he faced to secure his first shutout of the season.

Following a goalless early powerplay, the remainder of the first period was quiet, as neither side managed to create many grade-A chances, with both clubs' defences doing well to obstruct lanes and keep pucks to the outside. After 20 minutes, the home side held the edge in shots 6-1 as the Swedes had trouble finding their footing through the early going.

It wasn't until the 34th minute of the contest that the deadlock was broken when Pilsen scored twice in the span of 20 seconds. Aleš Čech found himself alone along the far side where he chipped the puck towards Holm where it eventually squirted through the pads. Then Danny Katic made it a 2-0 game when he slid home a loose puck inside the blue paint. A Dylan MacPherson shot from the point found its way through traffic, bounced around a bit inside the crease where Katic found it and made no mistake.

Third-period action got underway and Pilsen kept adding to their lead, this time with a powerplay tally from Matyáš Filip who whistled one far side over the stick of Holm who left his crease to challenge the play. Mikko Artturi Petman made a slick centering pass from down low to Filip who found himself all alone inside the near circle where he picked his spot and found the back of the net for his first of the season.

The Czechs kept cruising as they extended their lead again when Igor Merezhko found twine for Pilsen's fourth of the night. Once again, a Pilsen player found himself alone inside the near circle as Merezhko corralled the puck and wristed it over the glove of the netminder to make it 4-0. 

Rögle continued to try and battle their way back into the contest, but Pilsen's advantage was just too much to overcome for the Swedes as the Czechs would go on to claim their first points of the season.
