Hosting Storhamar Hamar held the lead from the first period and extended it by another one in the second, while KAC Klagenfurt’s late third-period goal ultimately fell short of completing their comeback in this closely contested Champions Hockey League match-up played in Norway.

The opening twenty minutes saw a tight battle where Storhamar held a narrow edge, outshooting Klagenfurt 9-5. The hosts kept pressure on and finally broke the scoreless tie at the seven-minute mark when Isac Skedung scored from close range, receiving a pass and instantly firing the puck into a nearly empty net. Klagenfurt received the period’s sole power-play chance, but failed to convert on the opportunity. Storhamar carried their 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

The second period saw Storhamar apply mounting pressure in the offensive zone, exposing some defensive lapses from the visitors.
