- Both sides entered the contest unable to qualify
- Two assists for Marian Adámek for Třinec
- Třinec goalie Ondřej Kacetl stops 29 of 30
With both Slovan Bratislava and Oceláři Třinec out of playoff contention, the opening 20 minutes of their meeting in the final group stage game went by without incident.
Neither side could find the back of the net, with the visitors from Třinec having the shot advantage over Bratislava by a margin of 8 to 5.
Coming out for the second period, Třinec looked hungry and were rewarded early.
A turnover behind the net led to a wrap around effort by Patrik Hrehorčák to open the scoring for the visitors, and just a few minutes later it was once again a turnover behind the net that led to another score.
This time Jonáš Peterek picked the puck up behind the goal line, rounded the net but passed it across to Michal Ramik who then tapped it in to double the advantage. Moments later Miloš Roman made it a 3-0 game.
The third goal led to a change in net for Bratislava, and a change in approach. Late in the period, with the team on the powerplay, they found the break they needed.
Andrew Yogan picked the puck up on the left side of the ice, cut down towards net and fired a fast shot through traffic. That would put one on the board for the hosts to make it a 3-1 game and that's where the score would remain heading into the final period.
Early in the third, Třinec re-opened their three goal lead, as some good puck movement set up Vladimír Dravecký to make it a 4-1 game.
Bratislava did have a chance to claw there way back into the game as they found themselves a man up for five minutes after a major penalty, but with them unable to find a second goal past Ondřej Kacetl, the score would remain as it was and Třinec would close out the group stage with a 4-1 win.
