- Tappara through to Last 16
- Kuusela, Malinen both with two goals for Finns
- Bergfors's double not enough for hosts
Finnish Champions Tappara Tampere survived blowing a two-goal lead in Stockholm to overcome Djurgården and book their place in the CHL playoffs.
Niclas Bergfors gave the hosts, who needed two points to qualify, a good start when he put them ahead with 4:40 played - the tip enough to deflect the puck in. It was a lead that the home side held until 24:22 as Kristian Kuusela tied things up. Joona Luota then fired high to put the Finns ahead with 28:37 gone, and 10 minutes after tying the game Tappara were two ahead - Jarkko Malinen through a crowd to make it 3-1.
A goal with just one second left of the period put Djurgården back to within one at 39:59, and they completed the comeback at 48:19 - Bergfors with his second of the game to tie it up from the slot.
However, Tappara weren't done - Kuusela was left unmarked in the slot to just about fire home with 52:13 on the board, putting them in the lead again. On the empty net it fell to Malinen to make the game safe, scoring for 5-3 with 1:54 left.
The win confirms Tappara's place in the Round of 16, while Djurgården will need at least two points in Tampere next week to guarantee their place.
