- Tappara still fighting for a spot in the Playoffs
- Tychy out but fighting for a potential first win of the season
- Tychy have never finished a CHL season without a win
An exciting hockey showdown between national title-holders GKS Tychy and Tappara Tampere is on the horizon, as the Polish champions get ready to host the Finnish powerhouse in the final round of Regular Season action in the 2026/27 season of the Champions Hockey League!
While they won’t be advancing to the Playoffs, Tychy have one final chance to say goodbye to the CHL together with their devoted home fans who have faithfully supported them throughout this year’s CHL campaign. Despite their results, Tychy have proven to be tough opponents against some of Europe's very best, most recently putting up an epic fight against Adler Mannheim all the way to a thrilling 5-4 shootout decision. They also didn’t go down easy against heavyweights like past CHL Champions Genève-Servette and current Regular Season leaders HC Pilsen.
Tappara, on the other hand, are still fighting for crucial points in an effort to secure a spot in the Playoffs. The Finns have had a somewhat up-and-down run in the Regular Season – they came close to beating German powerhouse Kölner Haie, earned some hard-fought victories over formidable opponents like the Växjo Lakers and Bílí Tygři Liberec, and fell just short in a tight battle against Storhamar Hamar.
With the stakes so high for past CHL Champions Tappara, and Tychy looking to sign off from their CHL campaign in style and with a possible mega upset, this game promises to be a thrilling clash where the script has yet to be written.
